Audience

Audience

In order to accurately reflect the interests and desires of my target audience, indicated by the brief to be a 16-25-year-old class AB demographic, I have opted to construct a questionnaire with many open questions to hand to members of that demographic. This includes questions such as, ‘In your personal preference, what are you most looking for in a fashion magazine?’ or, ‘What captures your eye first and draws you to a particular fashion magazine in a store or online?’ These questions were met with similar answers and the results provided a basis to which my magazine would adhere to in order to satisfy the wants of the target demographic.
89/100 people questioned, answered that within a fashion magazine what they look for most is a variety of content that they could check out and see if it tailored to their taste as, if it was all on one particular topic then it would quickly become stale and the topic might not appeal to them in the first place. In order to satisfy this requirement, I will be sure to include a plethora of cover lines and sell lines that cover a range of fashion topics, to entice the reader. The feature that the majority (over 80%) said drew them to any magazine, is that it must be unique and have a specific house style with colours that capture attention. In order to appease this, I will be making sure to utilise a brighter colour scheme in order to capture attention whilst also maintaining an aesthetic and modern look.
